Situated
at the confluence of the Yangtze (Changjiang) and Han Rivers, with

and the fifth largest city in China. It is an important hub for shipping,

Hubei Provincial Museum stores and exhibits unique ancient bronze
chimes and bells dating back 2,400 years ago, as well as many other
unearthed relics from this area. Wuhan was also the place the republican
revolutionary uprising started in 1911.
Wuhan is actually a combination of three boroughs: Wuchang, Hankou
and Hanyang, linked by bridges. Most Yangtze River cruise ships will
homeport in Hanyang and Hankou. It has 4 train stations including
a new spacious one in Hankou. When taking trains, be sure to get the
right station. You can take a deluxe soft sleeper on the express train
from Wuhan to Hong Kong or v. v, but the tickets are hard to get except
from this website, as they are expecting people will travel all the
way from Beijing to Hong Kong. The Tianhe International Airport in
the outskirts is around 2 hours, with daily flights to over 50 cities.
