Yunjin-Cloud
Brocade:
Named after its exquisite cloud pattern, Yunjin is one of China's
three famous styles of brocade. Well-patterned and brightly colored,
it looks simple, grandeur, symmetrical and elegant. During Ming and
Qing Dynasties, Yunjin was specially produced and sent to imperial
families for their clothing and other uses.
Wood Carving
The of wood carving could traced back to the New Stone Age. Nanjing's
wood carving are divided into two types: the red sandalwood carving
and the yellow poplar wood carving.
Red Sandalwood Carving
The Red Sandalwood mainly comes from south China. The growth of the
red sandalwood is very slow. Usually it takes hundreds of years to
become the real raw material with hard rigidity and high density.

Yellow Poplar Wood Carving
Also carrying a long history, the Yellow Poplar Wood has enjoyed a
deserved fame in China. It has a natural yellow tone and fine texture

poplar wood carving stress vividness and details. Most popular subjects
are human figures and various animals. It is also used for decoration
on the framework of dragon lantern when festival comes.
Rain Flower (Yuhua) Stone
According to a legendary story, they were rained flowers from heaven.
Colorful pebbles with beautiful patterns and veins, they are known
locally as jade-patterned agate and widely collected. The stone actually
is compound of quartzite, flint and agate. The pebbles look like jade
with tiny flowers embedded in them and make very good and unique souvenirs.
People put them in water jars or ink painting studios to beautify
